Rare Trailing Peperomia

A rare trailing peperomia from Bolivia, Peperomia Kimnachii has its roots hand-wrapped into a living moss ball, the form known as kokedama. Its branching shoots lengthen and drape over time, and will climb if given something to hold. The oblong leaves are slightly succulent, matte deep green on top and paler underneath, for a soft, layered look up close.

Ways to Display It

Each one comes with a Tray for Basic Planter in Grey Patina or White Patina. Keep it on the tray, or raise it on the Small Wrought Iron Planter Stand or a Granite Stand, both sold separately, so the stems have room to hang. As it matures, it works just as well on a shelf or hanging indoors.

An Epiphyte in Moss

In the wild, it grows as an epiphyte, taking root along its own stems rather than in soil. That habit is what makes the moss ball work: the plant is content with its roots in moss for a long stretch. When roots eventually push through the surface, it's ready to move on, and the whole kokedama can be planted into a pot to keep growing.

IN A NUTSHELL

Sunlight Icon Bright, indirect light near an east- or west-facing window. Avoid direct sun.
Care Icon Water when the moss ball feels light and dry. Avoid over-misting.

Please note: Live plants may vary in size and appearance based on season and grower availability. Plants will continue to fill out and develop their mature characteristics over time.

Orders ship November 2nd.
