Ficus salicaria
Fine Leaves, Open Branching
The Willow Leaf Fig Bonsai Tree is a fig bonsai native to India and Nepal. Long, narrow leaves grow along slender, woody branches, creating an open canopy that distinguishes it from broader-leaved ficus varieties. Its small foliage keeps the branching structure visible, giving this willow leaf bonsai its distinctive form.
A Place for Small-Scale Greenery
Planted in a handmade Midnight Black ceramic pot, the fig bonsai tree has a rounded base that suits a windowsill or side table. On a console, a pale ceramic vase offers a different shape beside the dark planter, while living plants with broader foliage introduce variation in leaf size.
Pruning and New Growth
New leaves and branches gradually change the tree's silhouette. Light pinching or shaping once or twice a year helps maintain its bonsai form. In higher humidity, Willow Leaf Fig may also develop aerial roots.
